Atlas, The Next Generation of Robots is Finally Here

Boston Dynamics, the robotics and engineering organization also owned by Google, has quite recently revealed its most amazing creation: Atlas, a two-legged robot that can walk, lift things up, and open doors like a real human. Standing 5-foot-9-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, Atlas is a super light compared with its 330-pound ancestor, which was created for scholarly groups to use in a test hosted by DARPA a year ago. Atlas runs on batteries alone. This gives it the opportunity of development to do things like skip through a woodland, as we see it doing in the video above.
